Tradition, completed

Tradition represents the force of history and culture in our lives-- the social constructions that shape our families, our governments, and our shared identities. The Ikon represents the support and pressure of our various communities, including both the explicit laws and the unspoken rules we follow. Tradition invokes the expectations of others; we do not exist in a vacuum, and our role within groups is never entirely of our own making.

Oh, that's gorgeous, with so many distinct characters! I love the composition, too.

Hee, thanks! (The composition gave me absolute fits, and I'm still not completely satisfied, but I am glad it reads well to someone who hasn't spent 30 hours staring at this.)

It gives me sort of a Fibonacci spiral feeling following from the figures starting at the top left, down the archway to the figure at the bottom right, and then back to the left following the listening children up to the statue. (Sorry if I have the wrong terminology!) It's very pleasing. :)

My photoshop layer was titled "sittingchildren", so that's as good a description as any. :)
