One of these days I will successfully begin a journal without making reference to that selfsame fact.
I'll start right in on it then, shall I?
This spring break has been a wonderful step away from all the chaos I've been dealing with at college....although I know in just a few short days that that chaos will be coming right back to haunt me as I've done hardly any work on my projects the past week. But it has been important; I've found a measure of peace that I had forgotten, and I believe I may be able to take it with me when I return.
I've been reading the sequel to the Three Musketeers, rather simply titled Twenty Years After. Strange that I had no idea this book existed until I found our library's copy...and what a marvelous book. Not just the story, but the copy I've gotten from the library. I knew it seemed old when I pulled it off the shelf, but it wasn't until I looked inside...
I can't find a printing date anywhere in the book, but there's a date written in next to the donor's signature: 1899. And judging from the prices of the books in the catalogue at the back (75 cents to a dollar each), this is quite an old volume. I love old books like these....I cherish them. To know that this physical copy has passed through so many hands, to know that others have read the same words and been carried through the plots as I have--this is a joy.
And of course, the book itself is wonderful as well! ; )
Well, that is enough for this first post. Well met and merry wanderings to any out there who happen upon this journal (few as you may be )
