Aug. 6th, 2006 10:56 pmIt's very strange, how every time I move into a new place I always have little flashes of deja-vu for awhile to all the times I've done so before. Perhaps all new rooms smell the same; I've heard tell that smell is the strongest sense connected to memory. Well, I've been feeling like I've just moved into my freshman dorm, or just moved in for the new school year at IMSA all day. I suppose it will fade soon, as it usually does.
My room still feels like a hotel room. I don't know the place of everything automatically yet (it is a near thing, though) and I haven't settled into comfort with it yet. I suppose I'll have to get re-used to it again once my roommate moves in three weeks from now.
Wah, the muscles in my arms are still extremely stiff from all the lifting.
Side note: the Kingdoms of Thorn and Bone trilogy by Greg Keyes is a wonderful work of literature.
I do not just say this because one of the foremost heroes of the book is a scholar-monk whose talent is ancient languages.
I think I shall spend the rest of the summer focusing on reading, and shaping my d&d world. I have far too many books to read right now...I almost wish I could forego the pleasure of time spent reading just to have them done and know what happens. Ah, but as this will not happen, I shall try to enjoy them in my own time.
Well, time to put the weekend to an end and prepare for work tomorrow.
Love to all~
